… And the band played on to thunderous applause, as the world ended in flames. This is a chilling tale about the end of the world, after the people with the fingers on the buttons take that final fatal step. Like Someone Else’s Dream, the vocals called for a harsh style to reflect the aggressive music and message. This was the most complex song on the album with compound time signatures, syncopated drums, literally dozens of guitar parts, choirs, orchestras, samples… you name it, it was in there! You know a song is going to be epic the moment we break out the glockenspiel!
